Most financial planning starts with the spreadsheet. I start somewhere else.
Before we talk about investments, tax strategy, or retirement projections, I want to understand what your money is actually for. What kind of life are you trying to build? What does a good day look like ten years from now? What are you afraid of getting wrong?
I came up through the analytical side of finance — the CFA track, investment management, the spreadsheets-and-calculators world. And I learned a lot. But something was missing. So I kept going, into financial psychology, financial therapy, and the science of meaning and purpose. I’m probably one of the only advisors you’ll meet who holds both a CFA and credentials in financial therapy and financial psychology. That combination shapes everything about how I work.
Because a good financial plan isn’t just technically sound. It’s pointed at something: a life that actually feels worth living. That’s the work I care most about.
I live in the Minneapolis area with my wife Katie, our dog Bingo, and our cat Whiskers. We spend as much time outdoors as possible; hiking, skiing, and exploring in our Airstream. I also play squash and read constantly.
If that sounds like the kind of financial planner you’ve been looking for, I’d love to talk.
